Interesting notes:

  • The playoff picture has no new teams compared to last week. There would be 3 new teams from last year (Indianapolis, Chicago, and Seattle)
  • Since the NFL moved to the 4 divisions per conference format in 2002, there has never been more than 8 playoff teams returning from the previous season. The average number of repeat playoff teams is 6.
  • The remaining schedules for all teams in the playoff picture (AFC):
    • Houston (.550)
    • Baltimore (.567) -- hardest
    • New England (.492)
    • Denver (.350) -- easiest
    • Indianapolis (.517)
    • Pittsburgh (.467)
    • Cincinnati (.517)
  • The remaining schedules for all teams in the playoff picture (NFC):
    • Atlanta (.483)
    • San Francisco (.492)
    • Green Bay (.550)
    • New York Giants (.600)
    • Chicago (.550)
    • Seattle (.500)
    • Tampa Bay (.608)
    • Minnesota (.675) --  hardest
    • New Orleans (.592)
    • Dallas (.450) -- easiest
  • The NFC North could very well cannibalize itself from 3 potential playoff teams all the way to 1. The 4 teams play 7 divisional games in the last 6 weeks.
A Quick Look Ahead to Week 12:

Minnesota at Chicago (Sunday, 1:00 PM) - Two weeks ago this looked like an easy Chicago win. But since then Minnesota has righted the ship and Chicago lost Jay Cutler to a concussion.
Atlanta at Tampa Bay (Sunday, 1:00 PM) - Suddenly scuffling Atlanta meets suddenly surging Tampa Bay in an important divisional matchup.
San Francisco at New Orleans (Sunday, 4:25 PM) - New Orleans gets their chance to avenge last year's postseason loss in San Francisco.
Green Bay at New York Giants (Sunday, 8:20 PM) - Both Packers-Giants games last year were thrilling contests.
