NFL Picks, Week 12 - Thanksgiving Edition

Houston (-3) over DETROIT
When a good team comes that close to losing to a terrible team, it signifies one of two things. Either a) The team got caught up either looking ahead or looking past the minnow in front of them and almost paid for it, or b) the good team isn't nearly as good as we thought they were.

I'm putting Houston in column A, so I think they're going to be pissed off and take it out on Detroit. Add in Detroit's loss last weekend that all but eliminates them from playoff contention in the NFC, and it's just too much for them to get up for one of the best 3 teams in the NFL on a short week, even at home.

DALLAS (-3) over Washington
Who comes into this game on a more hollow high? Dallas is riding a 2-game winning streak, but over Foles-led Philly and an overtime squeaker over the Browns. Washington comes in having smoked Foles-led Philly after a 3-game skid. I'm sticking with my stance that the Redskins can't stop anyone, and chalking the Eagles game up as a giant exception.

New England (-7) over NEW YORK JETS
All New England has to do is get out to an early 10-14 point lead and force Mark Sanchez and the Jets to play catch-up. Sure they're missing Gronkowski, but they should get back Hernandez, and Tom Brady still has many weapons to throw to. The Jets lost by a field goal in overtime a few weeks back in New England, but I don't see them hanging with the Patriots tonight in prime time.

I don't love backing all three favorites, but I don't feel confident in any of the underdogs.

Most importantly, enjoy a safe and Happy Thanksgiving with family, food, and of course, football!
