March Madness Day 3, Part 2

Louisville 82, Colorado State 56
Even early on in this game, while Colorado State was right with Louisville, you knew it was a matter of time. Louisville's pressure defense is designed to wear down their opponent. They'll get a couple turnovers early on (maybe more), but you see its effect in the second half. Louisville's looks are half a step more open, the opponent's shots start hitting the front rim, and the turnovers start piling up. Colorado State gave it a valiant effort, but they simply weren't a match for the tournament's overall #1 seed.

Arizona 74, Harvard 51
That's what a bunch of Ivy Leaguers playing basketball is supposed to look like. Harvard didn't make a shot for over 7 minutes to start the game, and by the time they did this game was well in hand for Arizona. It's incredibly hard for a great upset story on Thursday/Friday to come back Saturday/Sunday and be competitive. They've won their Super Bowl already, and the next team up certainly isn't going to take them lightly. But no matter what happens in the second game, no one can ever take away the tremendous accomplishment of taking down the #3 seed in their region. Kudos, Harvard.

One more step on the road to trying to become as good as Brown.
