World Cup Update, June 15

Yesterday's Results:
Colombia 3, Greece 0
Costa Rica 3, Uruguay 1
Italy 2, England 1
Ivory Coast 2, Japan 1

Four (very quick) thoughts on the games
- Greece hasn't changed. They pack it in and hope for the best on any counter opportunities they can muster. It's enough to qualify, but not enough to get results at the World Cup level.

- Yes Uruguay was without Luis Suarez, but what a result for Costa Rica. And that was a completely deserved red for Uruguay (1st of the tournament) on that cheap shot in the waning moments.

- England looked miles more aggressive, more imaginative, and simply better than they did at any point in 2010. At least for the first 75 minutes. For the last 20 they reverted back to pure English form (no imagination, limited skill, and the moment completely got the better of them).

- Ivory Coast looked ready to come up small on this stage yet again, and then Didier Drogba subbed on to the field, and less than 4 minutes later, the Elephants had turned a one-goal defecit into a one-goal lead. Maybe Drogba should start next game?
