World Cup Update, June 14

Yesterday's Results:
Mexico 1, Cameroon 0
Netherlands 5, Spain 1
Chile 3, Australia 1

Three (very quick) thoughts on the games
- I thought the commentators for the Mexico-Cameroon game were poor (partly because the play-by-play guy was a complete homer). The referees were worse. Mexico had 2 legitimate goals disallowed.

- Robin van Persie's header for the Netherlands' first goal was a thing of absolute beauty. And the way the Netherlands came out and went toe-to-toe with Spain skill-wise was a welcome difference from their terrible overly physical style of play in the 2010 Finals.

- Australia just might put up some resistance after all.

Today's Games:
Colombia vs Greece (12:00 PM, ABC)
Uruguay vs Costa Rica (3:00 PM, ABC)
England vs Italy (6:00 PM, ESPN)
Ivory Coast vs Japan (9:00 PM, ESPN)
note, all games are available streaming on ESPN3/the WatchESPN app
