NFL Power Poll, Week 11

Note: Last night's game has no effect on the power poll.

Rank (Last)
Team
Record
Notes
1 (1)
10-1
Strong team, deep team, and they are in the process of getting back their starting left tackle, starting right tackle, and Percy Harvin.
2 (3)
9-1
Denver rose to the challenge at home against division rival Kansas City. But we'll wait until the results of their next two games to come in before we decide if they're the AFC favorites: @NE, @KC.
3 (5)
8-2
They look unstoppable at home, but very mortal on the road (at least outdoors), which makes their Week 13 game at Seattle close to a must-win for their Super Bowl hopes.
4 (6)
7-3
In back-to-back weeks, Cam Newton has made big play after big play to win games against good teams. That's a very scary reality NFC teams have to wake up to, quickly.
5 (4)
7-3
Yes, they're a flawed team, but if a couple of questionable calls go the other way they're 9-1. Count them out at your own peril.
6 (2)
9-1
Losing to Denver in Denver isn't cause for much concern. The fact that their defense has stopped getting to the quarterback in the last 3 weeks is a big concern. Alex Smith isn't carrying this team anywhere.
7 (9)
7-3
At some point these early holes they dig themselves will come back to bite them…I think.
8 (8)
6-4
They have proven they will struggle to mount much in the way of offense against good defenses. Unfortunately, the NFC playoffs will be full of good defenses.
9 (10)
6-4
It's amazing how well this team is playing with an offensive line patched together by scotch tape and Elmer's glue.
10 (11)
7-4
They'll make the playoffs (3 game leads with 5 games to play don't usually evaporate), but the injuries on defense and mediocre-ness of quarterback Andy Dalton will see them bounced early yet again.
11 (7)
6-4
Well that was disappointing. Just as you thought the Lions were going to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the NFC North, they blow a very winnable game in Pittsburgh.
12 (17)
6-5
Philly is racking up the yards and points, but why to they tend to fall silent (or at least very quiet) after halftime?
13 (13)
6-4
Is Josh McCown a better quarterbakc option right now in this Bears offense than Jay Cutler? Probably not, but the fact that the question is even being asked isn't good.
14 (16)
5-5
Well the every other week W/L pattern is dead. But the home/road splits are still in bold: The Jets are 4-1 at home, and 1-4 on the road.
15 (18)
5-5
Dallas needs to patch its leaky defense, which is getting harder and harder as more players miss time due to injuries.
16 (19)
5-5
Usually turmoil takes a heavy toll on a team (look at the 2012 Saints). Being the team that made fewer mistakes last weekend (and thus got the win) was quite an accomplishment.
17 (12)
5-5
Hurry back, Aaron Rodgers.
18 (23)
4-6
Can they really be doing it again?
19 (21)
4-6
Why did it take you 10 games to figure out how to use your first round draft pick, Brian Schottenheimer?
20 (26)
4-6
Don’t look now, but Pittsburgh is 4-2 since their bye. Of course, they're also the team with the defense that gave up 55 points to the Patriots in the middle of that streak, so don't get too excited.
21 (14)
4-6
The offense peaked in week 1 in a 22-point loss. That about sums up their season.
22 (15)
4-6
Cleveland had their shot to make the AFC North interesting. They took a 13-0 lead on the Bengals last weekend. And then, in true Cleveland sports fashion, they fumbled it away, giving up 31 points in the second quarter (not a misprint).
23 (22)
4-6
That was a terrible loss for the Chargers to take. With 3 games remaining against the Chiefs and Broncos, count the Chargers out of the race crawl for the AFC's 6th seed.
24 (20)
4-6
Tennesee had their shot to make the AFC South a horse/giant race when they blew their 14-0 lead over the Colts last Thursday night.
25 (27)
4-7
As soon as you give up on the Bills, they jump up and steal a game against expectations. Then those expectations re-emerge, and they spend the next 2-3 weeks coming up short.
26 (30)
4-6
Really? Matt McGloin just walks in and throws 3 touchdown passes against a good Houston defense?
27 (31)
2-8
In the last 3 weeks, they have taken a 21-0 lead on the Seahawks, beaten a Miami team on the fringes of playoff contention, and thumped the Falcons. That's what makes their 0-8 start so puzzling, there is considerable talent on this team.
28 (28)
2-8
Is the Christian Ponder as a starting quarterback experiment finally over? Can we write the conclusion (he isn't one) now?
29 (24)
2-8
I don’t know why Gary Kubiak benched Case Keenum for Matt Schaub mid-game last weekend, but if he's fired at the end of the season, that will be his Waterloo: listening to his home fans boo his quarterback as soon as anything went remotely wrong.
30 (25)
3-7
With losses and unmet expectations comes finger-pointing and infighting. So now, the question must be asked: Does Mike Shanahan get canned at the end of this season? His records since taking over: 6-10, 5-11, 10-6, 3-7.
31 (29)
2-8
I gave serious consideration to dropping the Falcons below the Jagaurs. That should tell you all you need to know about just how far the Falcons have fallen.
32 (32)
1-9
Seven more games until this Jaguars season is mercifully over.

Biggest Risers:
Pittsburgh (6 spots)
Philadelphia, New York Giants (5 spots)

Biggest fallers:
Baltimore, Cleveland (7 spots)
Green Bay, Houston, Washington (5 spots)
