NFL Standings, Week 5 (With a few random thoughts on week 5)

I didn't get to watch much NFL this past weekend, so here goes a rapid fire list of comments on the week 5 games:

- Arizona's offensive line finally did them in. St. Louis has a dangerous D with some real NFL cornerbacks.
- Really, NFL? You're going to let Ryan Tannehill have it this easy?
- No more complaining about the refs if you miss the playoffs, Green Bay. You gave away your own game vs Indy,
- Joe Flacco: 13 of 27 for 187 yards and an INT. Against Kansas City. I'm making a ruling here, YOU"RE NOT ELITE!
- Who had week 5 in the RG3 gets his first KO from a game pool?
- Sorry, Cleveland.
- We've had a few Captain Turnovers. Michael Vick needs something higher in rank: Major Turnover.
-  I felt a little cheated out of my usual Manning-Brady classic, as Manning wasn't up for it.
- I'm still waiting for Pete Carroll to allow his passing game to enter the 21st century. I don't think you can win in today's NFL without that.
- When does Jacksonville acknowledge what the rest of the country knows? Blaine Gabbert is NOT the answer. It doesn't matter what the question is.
- This Minnesota thing is getting a little bit out of hand. Sure, Tennessee is terrible but Minnesota isn't supposed to be rolling over anyone.
- San Francisco is very good, but that was a disgraceful effort by the Bills.
- Congratulations Drew Brees on  passing the Johnny Unitas 47 consecutive games with a TD pass record.
- Did Houston hold something back to encourage the Jets to keep Mark Sanchez as their starter? Are they afraid of the magic of Tebow?

Interesting notes:
  • The NFC South is (cue Charles Barkley) TURRR-IBLE outside of Atlanta. If we ranked the teams for the purposes of playoff "seeding" 1-16 in the NFC, Atlanta would be #1, and Tampa Bay, Carolina, and New Orleans would be 14, 15, and 16.
  • We are down to 2 undefeateds. Bye bye Arizona.
  • The NFC West does not have a team under .500. Not even a team at .500. The NFC West.

A Quick Look Ahead to Week 5:
Dallas at Baltimore (Sunday, 1:00 PM) -  Two teams whose level of play can fluctuate wildly over the course of the season.
New England at Seattle (Sunday, 4:05 PM) - Very good offense with elite quarterback versus elite defense with mediocre (on a good day) offense)
New York Giants at San Francisco (Sunday, 4:25 PM) - Rematch of last year's NFC title game. Could it be this year's NFC title game too?
Denver at San Diego (Monday, 8:30 PM) - Someone has to win the AFC West (yes, it's a rule). It's going to be one of these two teams. Who gets the early leg up?
