NFL Standings and Playoff Picture, Week 8

Let's go rapid fire through the week 8 weekend slate of games:

Bears 23, Panthers 22 - Where was Chicago's offense? Cam Newton had as many touchdown passes to Bears players as Jay Cutler did.
Browns 7, Chargers 6 - Norv!!! No doubt he's out at end of season...right? Right?!?
Lions 28, Seahawks 24 - An extremely disappointing road showing for Seattle's defense. Detroit was 12-16 on 3rd down.
Packers 24, Jaguars 15 - Blaine Gabbert throws for 303 yards and 1 TD/0 INT. NFL fans everywhere flabbergasted.
Colts 19, Titans 13 - Andrew Luck has 4 wins in 7 games. Colts had 2 wins in 16 games last year.
Patriots 45, Rams 7 - Too much Gronk, Brady, offense
Dolphins 30, Jets 9 - Apparently Rex still believes in Sanchez. No idea why.
Falcons 30, Eagles 17 - Desperation time in Philly for Andy Reid, but changing quarterbacks won't solve his problems.
Steelers 27, Redskins 12 - Redskins receivers couldn't catch a cold
Raiders 26, Chiefs 16 - Jamaal Charles gets 5 touches, coach Romeo Crennel after the game doesn't know why.
Giants 29, Cowboys 24 - First Dallas gives game away, falls behind 23-0. Then Giants go in the tank, and Dallas takes 24-23 lead. Giants score, and then Dez Bryant's fingers inches too long as again, the Cowboys find a way to lose at the end of the game.
Broncos 34, Saints 14 - Peyton Manning has a defense, Drew Brees does not.
49ers 24, Cardinals 3 - Arizona's fall from their 4-0 start has been drastic.

  • There would be 4 new playoff teams compared to last season if the season ended today
  • The 8 repeaters: Houston, Baltimore, New England, Denver, Atlanta, New York Giants, San Francisco, Green Bay
A Quick Look Ahead to Week 9:
Arizona at Green Bay (Sunday, 1:00 PM) - Arizona started the season 4-0, then went in the tank and are now 4-4. Green Bay started the season 2-3, but have rallied to get to 5-3. A few weeks ago, this would have been a very interesting game.
Miami at Indianapolis (Sunday, 1:00 PM) - A suddenly very important game for the AFC wild card race
Minnesota at Seattle (Sunday, 4:05 PM) - A very important game for the NFC wild card race
Pittsburgh at New York Giants (Sunday, 4:25 PM) - Both teams sputtered a bit at the start of the season, but both are currently rolling.
