A quick primer on what all of this information is:
Team, W(ins), L(osses), T(ies), and Pct (winning percentage) are all self-explanatory.
The Conference and Division records are separated into separate columns for Wins/Losses/Ties. This was purely a formatting move designed to help me update the tables more efficiently.
PF - Points For (points scored by the team for the season)
PA - Points Against (points scored by the team's opponents for the season)
Pythag% - Pythagorean winning percentage - this is based on PF and PA
RoS SOS - Rest of Season Strength of Schedule
Interesting bits of information:
- The Bengals are the only team with a winning record in the AFC who has allowed more points than they have scored.
- Pity the Oakland Raiders. They're 0-7, and 7 of their last 9 games are against their fellow AFC West teams, the 49ers, and the Seahawks.
- After the Raiders, the Patriots have the toughest remaining schedule among AFC teams. But don't worry too much, Pats fans: Three of the next five toughest remaining schedules? The other three AFC East teams.
- According to Pythagorean winning percentage, the best team in the AFC is the Baltimore Ravens. Of course, those numbers don't take into account strength of schedule at all, and the Ravens have beaten up on the woeful NFC South to get to their current point differential.
- The Broncos have gotten to 6-1 despite the second-toughest schedule in the AFC (.564). Their rest of the season SOS? Just .452. And that includes this week's game with 6-2 New England.
