If a casual March Madness fan stopped you on the street tomorrow morning and asked something along the lines of, "Hey I just got off a 20 hour flight from Australia, was yesterday a crazy day?" You'd probably answer yes. And in one sense, it was full of craziness: A 2 seed, a 4, and a 5 all lost today. But in another sense, it wasn't. There weren't really any buzzer beaters. Only Kansas State-La Salle really came down to the last shot (which K-State missed...badly), but while a few other games stayed tight until the end, the day wasn't full of the wild endings that we think of when we think of March Madness.

Did everyone see that? I'm doing well. This is what I like to call the "high point" of the pool. You can also find this moment under "peaking early" in the dictionary.
Shoutouts
To James H, Jen K, Meg K, Joe M, Sam OC, Melissa R, Jimmy T, and Max T, for picking 12/16 games games correctly on the day.
To the guy with two thumbs who's running this pool, for pacing the field today with 13/16 games picked correctly. The three I missed? Exactly what you'd expect: Wisconsin, Kansas State, and Georgetown. Just don't ask me how many final four teams I have left. Really, let's move on.
To Cindy F, for correctly picking 2 of the big 3 upsets in the pool today (she only missed on Georgetown).
To Kevn B, Mark B, Adam D, Jason D, James H, Trent K, Ed K, Miles, Joe M, Sam OC, and Shelly P, who all also had Wisconsin losing to Ole Miss.
To Lisa A, Danny B, Denise K, Cindy F, Manny J, Meg K, Barack Obama, Julie P, Jimmy T, and Max T, who all had Kansas State losing today.
To Tony C, who called Florida Gulf Coast's upset shocker over Georgetown. Yep, he was the only one.
To the astronaut commercial. It's funny. Even though it's for Axe. Which is terrible.
To Sam OC (and Sol) for stopping by and giving myself and Miles some company for the ending to a couple games today.
Condemnations
To the FIFA match coordinator for the USA-Costa Rica World Cup qualifier, for stopping the match and considering abandoning it on account of the snowstorm. The players wanted to play, and you began the game in the same conditions. Lukckly, saner heads prevailed and the game was completed.
To Georgetown, for that horrid performance. 6 people lost their finalist today thanks to the Hoyas. Most importantly, one of them was little Miles.
