Interesting Notes:
  • New England has the head-to-head tiebreaker over Denver, and Cincinnati has the head-to-head tiebreaker over New England.
  • Yes, the current 4th seed in the AFC is the only team to have clinched its division. If someone tries to tell you the AFC South isn't the worst division in football, don't listen to them.
  • The Ravens hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Dolphins.
  • The Seahawks can clinch home field advantage with a) a win AND b) a 49ers loss AND c) a Saints loss.
  • If The Saints win their two remaining games that are NOT against Carolina, they will win the NFC South thanks to a better conference record.
  • As long as Dallas is within a game of the Eagles going into their week 17 head-to-head match-up, the Cowboys can win the division by winning that game.
  • Arizona will have a idfficult time overtaking the 49ers for a playoff spot, because even with a head-to-head win in week 17, they would lose the tiebreaker based on record in divisional games.
  • However, Arizona does have the head-to-head tiebreaker advantage over Carolina, if the Panthers fall behind San Francisco and even with the Cardinals.
A Quick Look Ahead to Week 14:
San Diego at Denver (Thursday 8:30 PM) - San Diego is clinging to the fringes of the playoff race, while Denver needs to stay ahead of the Patriots, thanks to that head-to-head loss.
New England at Miami (Sunday 1:00 PM) - Miami needs to keep winning to have a chance to jump ahead of Baltimore, and technically they have an outside shot at the division itself if they win out and the Patriots lose out.
New York Jets at Carolina (Sunday 4:05 PM) - Carolina needs to bounce back to stay within striking distance of the Saints, while the Jets need to show something other than complete offensive ineptitude on the road.
Green Bay at Dallas (Sunday 4:25 PM) -  Will Aaron Rodgers play? Does it matter against this Cowboys defense?
Baltimore at Detroit (Monday 8:30 PM) - Two teams on the (correct) edge of the playoffs square off.
