Quick hitter picks. Home team in CAPS.
Washington (+6.5) over ATLANTA
I'm not sure what the Cousins-led Redskins offense will look like. But the Falcons' defense is extremely forgiving.
San Francisco (-5.5) over TAMPA BAY
I actually believe Tampa Bay's defense can give the 49ers' offense problems. It's just that I don't trust Mike Glennon to put up points against a 49ers defense that held the Seahawks to 17 points.
Arizona (-2.5) over TENNESSEE
Ryan Fitzpatrick against a top-5 defense. This feels like stealing.
New Orleans (-6) over ST. LOUIS
New Orleans is too good for Kellen Clemens to be much of a problem.
Seattle (-7) over NEW YORK GIANTS
Not this Eli Manning. The 2013 version of Eli is not going to magically find his groove against the Seattle pass defense.
CLEVELAND (+1) over Chicago
Total gut feel. Chicago's defense is very bad.
INDIANAPOLIS (-5.5) over Houston
The Texans got swept this season by Jacksonville.
JACKSONVILLE (+2) over Buffalo
One team is trending upwards, and the other is trending downwards. The one trending downward rhymes with Stuffalo.
New England (-2.5) over MIAMI
What will it take for the Patriots to slip up? After last week I officially have no idea.
Philadelphia (-5.5) over MINNESOTA
I'm not sold on Philly's defense yet, but a Minnesota offense minus a healthy Peterson and with a healthy Matt Cassel isn't going to disprove their improvement.
CAROLINA (-11) over New York Jets
The Jets offense on the road against a top defense? Pass (poorly).
Kansas City (-4.5) over OAKLAND
The Chiefs aren't going to beat themselves. Oakland's not good enough to beat them.
Green Bay (+7) over DALLAS
With two defenses this bad I'll take the points.
Cincinnati (-2) over PITTSBURGH
The Bengals are just a much better team, even with their injuries.
Baltimore (+6) over DETROIT
The Ravens seem to be rounding into form at just the right time. Which, considering the sorry state of the AFC, should be worrisome for many fans.
This week: 1-0 (whoo-hoo!)
Last week: 11-5 (.688)
2013 season: 96-105-7 (.478)
