This week's NFL TV maps: 506sports
Interesting note: There is only one late game this week on FOX: Dallas at Philadelphia. This means the enitre country has access to this game. How is that possible?
There are 3 NFC teams located west of the Central time zone. These teams are never forced to play a home game at 1PM Eastern as it would be 10AM/11AM local time. But this week,
- Arizona is on the road at Chicago
- San Francisco is on the road at Pittsburgh
- Seattle is playing Sunday night on NBC
And absent a mandate to put another game alongside their showcase, FOX declined to do so.
KANSAS CITY (-3) over Denver
This is a difficult pick. I don't really trust either quarterback against a good defense, and both of these teams have good defenses. Denver beat Baltimore (another good team with a good defense) last weekend 19-13. I'd be surprised if these two teams combine for even that many points with these two quarterbacks on a short week.
Normally in a game like that, I'd take the points. And if this were a Sunday game, I'd take the points. But it's a Thursday game, and we've seen countless times over the last few years: unless the visiting team is clearly better than the home squad, ride the home team on Thursday night. So that's exactly what I'm going to do.
