DETROIT (-7) over Chicago
This is the highest line of the day, easily. It's also the easiest call of the day. You have Jay Cutler going up against a good defense. That very rarely, if ever, ends well these days. Oh they'll have some success offensively, but it's only a matter of time until Jay moprhs into Captain Turnover.
DALLAS (-3) over Philadelphia
Dare I say it...but of the two quarterbacks in this game, I trust Tony Romo more. That will happen when the other quarterback is Mark Sanchez. Neither of these defenses will do a particularly consistent job of stopping the opposing offense, and at the end of the day Romo will make 1 or 2 plays more than Sanchez.
Seattle (+1) over SAN FRANCISCO
It's funny, after the Chiefs loss, I all but gave up on the 2014 Seattle Seahawks. After the win over the Cardinals, I'm back in. The fact that they won helped, but I was really sold by their defensive performance. A truly suffocating performance. One that reminded me of the 2013 version of this team. Reminders like that have been few and far between this season, but with the defense finally having 10 of their 11 starters playing together, they just might be ready to make some noise.
Can they finally beat their arch rivals on the road? It hasn't happened yet under Pete Carroll. I'm picking it because I trust Seattle's pass defense against Kaepernick, and the 49ers' running game is not nearly what it's been in recent years.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Hug a family member and then hug a turkey leg tomorrow.
